IEEE DAY CELEBRATION 2022

On the 27th of April 2022, IEEE SB CEA with IEEE PES SBC CEA celebrated IEEE PES Day, 2022 at College of Engineering, Adoor. The theme of the 5th IEEE PES Day was “Powering a Sustainable Future.”

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sunil Kumar, Principal of College of Engineering, Adoor. The event was celebrated with a lot of spirit and enthusiasm by fellow PES volunteers and IEEE members.

The main aim behind the 5th IEEE PES Day celebration was to encourage IEEE members across the globe to help advocate for a sustainable future powered by clean and resilient power and energy technologies.

The event had started with the welcome address given by Dr. Jayachandran E S, Professor and HOD, ECE department and Student Branch Counselor IEEE SB CEA. Then the inaugural address was given by Dr. K Sunil Kumar, Principal, CEA. Dr. John George, Professor and HOD EEE Department and IEEE PES SBC CEA Chapter Advisor, also graced his indispensable presence for the event.

We also had two mentors of IEEE SB CEA, to enhance the beauty of the celebration with their glorious presence. They were Mr. Anish Mohan, Public Relations Coordinator at IEEE Germany Section and Mr. Yadu Krishnan, Travancore Area Meetup coordinator IEEE PES YP Kerala. They were past Exe-com members of IEEE SB CEA and are active members of IEEE.

Mr. Anish Mohan shared his experiences with IEEE from the college level and explained how it helped him pave a way for his successful career and develop essential professional skills.

Mr. Yadu Krishnan also shared his valuable experience of being an IEEE PES member. He also imparted to the participants the history of IEEE PES and the goal of IEEE PES Day in detail. The event also had the presence of past Exe-com members of IEEE SB CEA.

The auspicious moment of the website launch of IEEE PES SBC CEA was held next. All the credit behind the successive launch of the website goes to Mr. Abhiram Sreekumar, Webmaster IEEE PES SBC CEA, who is the master brain behind the designing of the website. Dr. John George cordially inaugurated the launch.

Everyone’s presence, support and experiences helped the event to achieve the aim of IEEE PES Day 2022. The celebrations concluded with a cake cutting ceremony. In conclusion, the volunteers and members of PES and IEEE highlighted the importance of this remarkable day with great zeal. Furthermore, the aim and vision of IEEE PES Day 2022 was made aware to each volunteer and member. The celebrations ended with Sujith Kumar A, Chairperson of IEEE SB CEA, giving the vote of thanks.
